Facebook is the new AOL

Do you read the paper? Keep up on the scene? Stay current, stay informed, stay with whatever is happening in the now? Haha read the paper, that is very old school! So yeah I keep up. I know plenty of ish about what is going on. I even predict how it will go down most of the time. Life doesn’t totally shock me anymore. I roll with the punches.

But my new manager Fahqfase Bookman argues otherwise. This dude knows all sorts of things about what’s going on around town. He tells me about things in my own backyard, asks if I know about them and I don’t. He says he learns these things from facebook. I am sitting this one out. Please with the facebook. I wish those people would check out the Internet, it’s something you can get to from facebook.

I don’t twitter either so im a total dinosaur these days. I have people actually trying to explain this stuff to me, like I’m missing out because I don’t understand. I usually tell them that I have broken up and remarried the internet about 5x in the last 15 years.

Until facebook is superseded I’m just forced to be out of the loop. Uninformed. Damn near ignant to the world around me. Haha yeah right, fuck facebook.

HOW DO YEAW VIEW YOU?

(by Fucface Bookman, Associated Pruss) NORTHSIDE, RUSTOPIA – Can your numerous profiles, logins, accounts, sensors, switches and buttons combine into a single entity? How long would you last if everything you did in a day went into this single profile, nothing more than a record in the relational database that is 21st century life?

Not long says Ezrazmus Jones, which is why he fears such constant connectivity. The connectivity can only rationally remain constant if we are allowed multiple personalities.

“I have many” says Ezrazmus ‘Elemento’ Jones (not his real name), “and it’s a good thing. I can lurk, I can pull rank, I can drop my credentials, and I can hide them just as easily. Just like offline, you have no idea who you are dealing with unless you know me face to face in a real way. Asinine Intelligence will lead us astray.”

Hmm, pseudo-interesting point. So add to the discussion here on World Have Yer Say by commenting on if/how you manage to live online as a single entity or if you go the iSchizo route to protect the innocents.

Note that this blog is eaten alive by google, yahoo and bing spiders so you are being recorded (technorati won’t even take a nibble though!).
